Kaizilla

A Dubai entrepreneur brought me a coin. I handed him back a metaverse: 500 playable 3D NFTs, real-time multiplayer, and an economy running on-chain.

Overview

Kaizilla is the most ambitious project I have shipped in game development. A Dubai-based entrepreneur came to me with a vision: launch his own cryptocurrency, Kaizila Coin, and build an entire multiplayer metaverse game around it. Not a prototype. Not a pitch deck. A live, playable world where every asset is an NFT, every player owns their character, and the economy runs on-chain.

The result is a blockchain-integrated multiplayer game where players explore a 3D metaverse, collect and trade NFT characters, showcase their collections in virtual spaces, and interact with others in real time. The client's coin is the economic backbone: every transaction, trade, and mint operates through the token.

The Challenge

The scope was enormous from day one: a full metaverse with 500 unique 3D NFT characters, each one a playable asset with its own attributes and rarity. The blockchain layer had to be production-ready; not a testnet demo but a real economy handling real money. The client expected a polished, launch-ready product that could go to market with confidence. Integrating blockchain into a real-time multiplayer environment without destroying performance or player experience was the central engineering challenge.

The Approach

I architected the game in three parallel streams: the 3D world engine, the blockchain smart contracts, and the NFT metadata pipeline. The metaverse was built in Unity with custom multiplayer networking: players see each other in real time, interact with the environment, and trade NFTs through an in-game marketplace.

For the NFTs, I designed a pipeline that generated 500 unique characters with randomized traits, rarity tiers, and 3D models. Each character was minted on-chain with full metadata; not just an image but a playable character with stats and attributes that matter in gameplay.

The blockchain integration uses a custom token contract for Kaizila Coin, with smart contracts handling NFT minting, marketplace transactions, and in-game purchases. Every economic action is verifiable on-chain while the game loop stays smooth for the player.

Highlights

  • 500 unique 3D NFT characters designed, modelled, and minted as playable in-game assets
  • Custom cryptocurrency (Kaizila Coin) powering the entire in-game economy
  • Real-time multiplayer metaverse with marketplace, trading, and social spaces
  • Blockchain transactions handling real economic value, not testnet but production
  • Full metaverse environment with explorable 3D spaces

The Outcome

This is my proudest work in game development. The client launched Kaizila Coin with a functioning metaverse at its core; not a whitepaper promise but a playable product. Players buy, trade, and fight over NFT assets in a living world. Most blockchain games are tech demos wearing a brand. This one shipped.
